About Us

SWCDs (Soil and Water Conservation Districts) are local units of government that manage and direct natural resource management programs at the local level.

Minnesota’s 88 SWCDs cover the entire state with the exception of Hennepin and Ramsey Counties. SWCD boundaries generally follow county lines, with the larger Otter Tail, Polk and St. Louis Counties having two SWCDs.
