Clean Water Land & Legacy Amendment

Work with local lenders and the MN Department of Ag to offer low interest loans to implement practices that prevent water pollution.

Developing an Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Prevention Plan.

Assisting landowners in complying with the 2015 MN Buffer Law and identifying "Other Waters" for inclusion in local water plans.

Assist landowners in sign-up, and management of  State of Minnesota Conservation Easements.

The SWCD offers a $500 scholarship to assist a graduating senior in Winona County with their post secondary educational plans in the conservation field.

Provide financial assistance for the control of invasive species and restoration of infestation areas.

Provide technical and financial assistance for various state, federal and local cost-share programs.

Coordinate with local schools in the SE MN Envirothon.

Assist landowners to become certified by the MN Ag Water Quality Certification Program (MAWQCP).

Provide technical and financial assistance for various state, federal and local prairie planting and maintenance cost-share assistance.

Provide rain data to the State Climatology Office from volunteers around Winona County.

Provide technical review for various units of government.

Winona SWCD takes orders for bare root trees and shrubs through the fall and early winter for disbursement in April.
