Amanda Gentry is the Feedlot Engineer Technician for the Winona County SWCD. She assists landowners with planning and implementing feedlot fixes. Examples of feedlot fixes that the SWCD may be able to provide technical and financial assistance include manure pits and stacking slabs, milkhouse wastewater treatment, feedlot runoff control, and solid settling basins.
As the oldest of four girls and no brothers, Amanda helped her father run their small family dairy farm outside of Sparta, WI. She has graduated from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls with a Bachelor of Science degree. She majored in Conservation and has minors in Biology, Hydrogeology, and Soils. Since then, she spent a year as a volunteer for the Minnesota Conservation Corps and worked for 18 months at the Yellow Medicine SWCD office in Clarkfield, MN.
Amanda is excited to meet and work with local producers in Winona County.
