RAIN GAUGE MONITORS

Winona County currently has 11 rain gauge observers who collect and monitor rain fall information from April through October.  This information is recorded in our SWCD office and then sent to the State Climatology Office.  It is through detailed data such as this that monitors are a valuable part of Minnesota’s weather data system.  The reporters are provided with a rain gauge and reporting information and keep written records of monthly rainfall.  At the end of the month reports are sent to the District Office and then sent to the State.  Following are the names of the raingauge monitors for Winona County.
